When the flowers begin to blossom outside, student work is in full bloom inside. Every spring the Meramec Art Department hosts the Annual Juried Student Art and Design Exhibition, showcasing student work across all disciplines. From humble beginnings of a seedling, to weathering the elements, and finally achieving full bloom, spring is a perfect metaphor for both the creative process and an art student’s academic journey.

That metaphor comes to life with the leaves and buds interacting with “ART" and “DESIGN”. To balance the bold type and illustration, the yellow text appears in a softer almost script-like typeface slightly raised from left to right allowing for movement across the page. The rich colors in the poster work together to catch the viewer’s eye while remain inviting.
